Crown Tourney, 23 October 2010

On the big Island in Lake Champlain ... Fall in Vermont. Brisk, sunny, and a beautiful Tournament.

Combatants and Consorts, gentles and peers, subjects and Royalty. Pageantry and color abound as the Tournament begins and fighters make ready.
First Rounds: The fifty-four fighters compete in a round robin format, one match against each of the other fighters in the 'bucket'.
The Round of Sixteen pitted the final sixteen competitors against each other in a double-elimination format. Four were left standing, Duke Gregor, Duke Lucan, Duke Randall and Sir Kenrick.

Duke Lucan and Duke Gregor fought the last battle to decide the crown. A best of five format was chosen by His Majesty: sword and shield, great sword, florentine, polearm, and finally sword and shield again. The fifth fight resulted in a double kill, so their Graces fought a sixth and deciding battle. Duke Lucan elmerged the Champion of the List and was crowned Prince of the Realm. Duchess Jana was crowned Pincess of the Realm.
